Zero energy consumption constructions

Smart Zero energy houses are an innovative sustainable building method by Smart Building with low to zero energy consumption.

Zero consumption constructions are an innovative service offered by Smart Building with enormous advantages to those who choose it.

All energy houses of the SmartZero series have zero energy consumption. To achieve this, a zero-consumption house requires an autonomous energy production system.

Our company has been active in the field of construction for many years. Thus, we have all the experience and specialized knowledge to offer zero-consumption houses with an emphasis on high aesthetics, efficiency, and functionality.

Read below for more information on our Smart Zero series houses.

Smart Zero energy consumption houses

Smart Zero consumption energy houses are the best way for a household to deal with the huge energy costs. A house construction with our Smart Zero series, you will not have to worry about electricity, petrol, or gas prices, since the house itself will be able to produce all the required energy.

In fact, energy efficiency and energy consumption of buildings is an important, trending issue, with several relevant changes in national legislation.

Most foreign countries are already investing in renovations and upgrades to ensure the energy efficiency of buildings and reduce their overall energy consumption.

Thus, zero-consumption energy houses are something that we’ll have to deal with in Greece in the coming years.

At Smart Building, we are already one step ahead and provide you with the possibility to obtain a zero-energy consumption house according to the highest construction standards.

What are zero-consumption houses equipped with?

In order to achieve the desired result, namely the energy consumption sufficiency of a house, we place modern equipment of excellent quality and high technical specifications, in every building we construct. This equipment includes:

  • Metal Frame: Coated and double insulated with expanded polystyrene 10cm thick and λ=0.036w/Mk, expanded polystyrene coating 5-6cm thick and λ=0.036w/Mk. A total of 15-16cm of insulation to prevent or avoid thermal bridges.
  • Masonry: Dry construction with external thermal facade. Cement board.
  • PVC frames: triple-glazed PVC frames with argon gas Uw=0.79 W/m2K and Ug=0.6 W/m2K.
  • Insulation: Roof insulation with expanded polystyrene, asphalt cloth, concrete, waterproofing.
  • Heat Pump: Cooling-heating energy class A.
  • Solar Water Heater: for hot water heated by the sun.
  • Ventilation System: Ventilation system with heat recovery.
  • Photovoltaic System: Solar power system for complete energy independence.

Cost of zero-consumption house construction

The cost of building a zero-consumption house cannot be estimated until we understand the needs and preferences of the individual owner.

After all, every building is different, with its own requirements, both in design and functionally. However, the cost for zero consumption constructions is 20-40% higher than a usual energy class A+ construction. The final cost, of course, depends entirely on the requirements based on the individual energy efficiency study and plan.

At Smart Building we aim to provide an affordable construction solution for any type of building. Thus, we also offer particularly affordable prices for zero-consumption houses.

Utilizing excellent quality materials, modern construction methods, and the best insulation practices, we manage to ensure results that will fully satisfy your needs.

Also keep in mind that although the initial construction cost is higher, the payback of the investment will come very soon.

What are the advantages of building a zero-consumption house?

As we mentioned above, the advantages of building a zero-consumption house are particularly important due to the fact that they do not depend on the fuel and energy market. This implies a huge financial benefit for an owner.
The individual benefits offered by our Smart Zero construction methods are:

  • Higher energy savings in all respects, compared to A+ energy class constructions.
  • Care for the environment
  • Care for owners from future increases in electricity costs.
  • Increased comfort in everyday living, due to consistent and even indoor temperatures.
  • Lower property ownership costs due to improved energy efficiency.
  • Reduction of monthly maintenance costs.
  • Building a passive house from the beginning costs less than adding energy efficiency improvements later on.
  • Higher market value than conventional constructions, due to the continuous rise of electricity costs.
  • Future regulations and laws on carbon dioxide emissions may require a future retrofitting of a conventional building into a passive one.

It is easy to understand that the construction of a zero-consumption house is a highly efficient investment that every house owner should seriously consider.

In fact, our company is able to ensure excellent results in every construction, both in terms of energy efficiency and aesthetics.
