Energy class A+ houses

The energy class A+ houses we construct offer substantial energy and money saving.

Energy class A+ houses constructed by Smart Building are a reliable and guaranteed solution, which offers substantial energy savings and money savings to homeowners. After all, with the current state in the fuel and electricity market, there’s a growing need for maximum energy savings in all respects.

According to legislation N.3661/08 and the establishment of building energy classification as described in KENAK (Greek building code), all constructions with a building permit issued after 2010, must have an official energy class certificate. The energy classification classes of constructions are: A+, A, B+, B, C, D, E, F, G. Constructions with energy class C and below, are not considered “acceptable”.

Our company has great expertise and experience to provide you with energy class A+ houses according to the highest standards.

The construction of an energy-efficient house requires a comprehensive study, modern building methods, and, of course, innovative insulation solutions. All these factors give the desired results, which we can guarantee in every house construction we undertake.

Energy house construction

Energy house construction focuses mainly on building a house that offers maximum energy efficiency. So our goal is not just the construction of a building. We also need to ensure minimum heat losses and maximum levels of thermal insulation.

There are numerous advantages offered by Smart Building energy houses. We always give special emphasis on the final result. Our staff is constantly updated on all technological developments and latest methods. On top of that, we use excellent building materials which contribute to the maximum energy efficiency of a residence and a high energy class classification.

Advantages of an energy house

The most important advantage of an energy-efficient home is the huge energy savings it offers. The annual energy consumption of a construction is calculated according to KENAK standards, and residences belonging to energy class A+ can achieve energy savings of up to 70% compared to an energy class B construction.

Below are some comparative figures for the energy efficiency classification for constructions:

  • Energy class A+: 70% lower consumption than B
  • Energy class A: 50% – 70% lower consumption than B
  • Energy class B+: 25% – 50% lower consumption compared to B
  • Energy class B: up to 25% lower consumption compared to B+

The advantages of energy houses we construct are:

  • High energy efficiency home
  • Low cost for cooling-heating and hot water use
  • High thermal insulation capacity of the external walls due to the external thermal facade
  • Bioclimatic home design

In order for an energy class B building to become energy class A+, the building’s design and orientation are not enough.

Some essential works include correct insulation application on the metal frame and installation of energy-efficient equipment, such as low-consumption cooling-heating and water heating.

Why build and class A+ energy house?

Smart Building company, after years of studies, with respect for the environment and customer satisfaction in mind, innovating in metal constructions and metal houses, presents the Smart Plus series. A building construction method that offers our customers energy class A+ homes with up to 70% lower energy consumption compared to the lowest energy-efficient buildings of class B.

Achieving energy class A+, which also entails energy savings, is based on many years of studies and collaborations for excellent quality materials from certified suppliers.

In short, in order to ensure the best results, one needs to do more than just follow the best building and insulation practices. Top-quality materials from certified suppliers are also a “must”.

More detailed information about the materials we use can be found below.

What materials are used to build an energy house?

As we mentioned above, the materials used in the construction of an A+ energy house play a decisive role in the final energy savings the building will offer.

The materials we use for our Smart Plus series metal houses are:

  • Metal Frame: Coated and double insulated with expanded polystyrene 10cm thick and λ=0.036w/Mk, expanded polystyrene coating 5-6cm thick and λ=0.036w/Mk. A total of 15-16cm of insulation to prevent and avoid thermal bridges.
  • Masonry: Dry construction with external thermal facade. Cement board, stone wool, and double plasterboard with a total thickness of 25-26cm.
  • PVC doors/windows: Double-glazed, u = 1.1 W/m2k.
  • Heat Pump: Cooling-heating energy class A.
  • Solar Water Heater: Solar hot water heater.
  • Insulation: Roof insulation with expanded polystyrene, asphalt cloth, specialized concrete, waterproofing.
